Gabby's Eczema Cream

10 years ago, I was given the challenge of raising a child with eczema.  Though this condition may seem minute to an array of other challenges parents may face, this was something I was completely naïve to. After failed prescribed remedies, I researched the best natural options. Through trial and error, I curated a cream that is full of ingredients that all work together to provide the best nourishment for skin needing extra TLC.

The ingredients are as follows:

  • 8oz Shea Butter
  • 2oz Mango Butter
  • 1oz Murumuru Buttter
  • .4oz jojoba oil
  • .10 grapeseed oil
  • Essential oils:
  • Ginger
  • Juniper Berry
  • Patchouli
  • Cedarwood
  • Tea tree
  • Peppermint

I measure each butter separate and add into a clear bowl that is put on a double boiler to melt. It usually takes approximately 30 minutes for the butters to completely melt on medium setting.

I forgot to take a picture of the butters in the double boiler 😞(I'm trying to get better), but when all butter are melted, it should look like yellow opaque soup....Yum! Take out and allow to cool in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

Put in a mixer and add the essential oils. For butter this size, I do not allow more than 48 drops total of essential oils to allow for a low dilution since this is for sensitive skin. Place in a mixer and allow to mix until a whipped consistency is formed, it should take approximately 30 minutes.

Put in a gallon sized Ziploc bag, cut the bottom for
a hole and pipe into your desired container.

This usually lasts my daughter about 2 weeks  in that she moisturizes very frequently.  I hope this works out for you as it did for Kaitlyn!

If you decide to make it, I am happy to hear of any feedback you have you made, and if it worked out for you. Feel free to comment below!

Be Great,
    Stephanie
